Rare antique silver letter opener Judaica Tunisia 19th-20th century

  

A very beautiful and precious Jewish paper knife from Tunisia. This object is immediately identifiable by its Orientalist shape from the Maghreb. Furthermore, the motifs that decorate it, such as fish, doves, and various arabesques, determine its affiliation with the Jewish community of Tunisia.

Indeed, many jewelers from the community worked throughout the Maghreb, particularly in Tunisia and especially in Djerba. These designs can be found in all the ethnic jewelry of these local artists.
