Henri SOUFFLOT, Ancient rocaille silver cover in SOLID SILVER Monogrammed Minerve JC. This delightful table cover is composed of a spoon and a fork in Solid Silver. This beautiful piece was made by the silversmith Henri SOUFFLOT at the end of the 19th century. This cover features a shell and rocaille decoration. It is monogrammed JC or JT.

These Baptism gifts are a traditional present: in the past, in wealthy families, the godmother would offer a silver object to the child (hence the expression "being born with a silver spoon in one's mouth"). These rare silver objects were a safe investment, passed down to the protected individual.

This gift could be accompanied by a cup, an egg cup, or a napkin ring. The child will keep this gift for their entire life and use it daily. In good overall condition, they measure approximately 16 cm.
