Exceptional fragment of a traditional Tunisian dress, attributable to the region of Hammamet, dating from the late 19th century or the very beginning of the 20th century. This piece comes from a high-quality women's garment, made from dyed silk and richly hand-embroidered with solid silver thread canetille. The embroidery, dense and meticulous, features a stylized plant decoration composed of flowers and foliage, executed according to the traditional techniques of the Tunisian coast, reserved for ceremonial or display pieces. The silver threads, worked in spirals and individually sewn metallic sequins, offer a polished brilliance and testify to a true textile goldsmithing technique that has now disappeared. The quality of the silk, the richness of the decoration, and the technical mastery clearly position this element within a high-end production, likely intended for a wedding dress or grand celebration.

Important: A second strictly similar fragment is also available. It is possible to acquire a single piece or both, ideal for a presentation in pairs or a coherent set.

Framing: These fragments were previously framed. Given their age and the fragility of the materials, professional re-framing (with neutral and conservation materials) is strongly recommended to ensure their proper preservation and optimal display.

Condition: Antique and authentic, with wear, natural oxidations of the silver thread, and silk fragilities consistent with age (see photos). These marks of time contribute fully to the authenticity and historical charm of the piece. Traditional embroidery in solid silver thread. Collectible piece, for study, framing, or decoration. A rare testament to the women's costume of Hammamet. A rare and precious fragment, intended for collectors, textile art enthusiasts, ethnologists, or decorators, a true witness to Tunisian clothing refinement at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
