Antique Pyrogen, English Silverware in the Form of a Boot on Base, 19th-20th Century

  

A very elegant silver pyrogen, hallmarked, shaped like a boot. The boot is of fine quality and appears to be in the military style of the 17th or 18th century.

It is decorated with a pom-pom at the front in the manner of light cavalry, a spur, and a large engraved buckle on the instep. Finally, it rests on a base that imitates the ground and is also decorated with scrolls.

Its perimeter is ridged to serve as a match striker. Dimensions 7.5cm x 6cm x 4cm Weight 64g.
